We visited Marblehead,Oh where this lighthouse is located.The lighthouse is the oldest continuous operating in the great lakes.

We visited President Garfields Home,it was added on by him and when he died his wife added more to it finally coming up with 22 rooms.It is the Natl Park service that oversees the house almost all the furnishings are original .There is a small charge of $5.00 for a tour of the home but it is waved if you have the Natl Park Pass.

Looking at Niagara Falls,Canada from USA




Well here we are in glorious New York rain,rain ,rain.We had a dry day last week and went to Niagara Falls,Canada what a disappointment. No free parking paid $3.25 to cross into Canada parking cost anywhere from $10.00 to $18.00. So back to USA. Pictures are of Niagara from US side. Also went to Lockport where the Erie Canal goes thru.

While in Pa. we went to Johnstown where the famous Johnstown Flood occured in the late 1800's.The pictures are of a home that was up the hill from where the dam that caused the flood occured. Behind the dam was a lake that totally disappeared with a wall of water almost 60 ft high that wiped out the town of Johnstown with over 2,000 dead as a result If you look on the internet under google Johnstown Flood. there are several pictures of the aftermath of the flood.

While we were in Pa. we visited Flight 93 memorial very moving They are renovating the site as they made it a national park site.They were in the process of building a visitor center.At this point in time you cannt approach the spot where the plane went down but will have a road and path going arount the impact site.Posted by Picasa

While in Va. we went for a drive up the Blueridge Prkwy from Roanoke to Waynsboro 70 mi to Roanoke and 70 back to Waynsboro took approx. 5 hrs Then we went from Waynsboro to Front Royal approx. 90 miles then went down to US 33 on the Skyline dr. Left at about 10 AM and had to quit at 4 PMabout half way. Has been raining ever since.Will try to complete when rain stops

One of the many old hoes at Charelston,SC. took a tour .Problem is there nis no free parking in all of Charelston they say if you can even find a parking place it would be like winning the lottery.

Francis Marion National Forest outside of Charleston,SC. The campground at Buck Hall part of the Natl Pk they accept the Access card so only cost $10.00 per night.Had both water & electric and a dump station. Sites were at least 4 sites wide.

On our way to Disney.Not sure if we will have Wi-Fi. Will try to post some picture if and when we get Wi-Fi.According to forecast expect to have rain for the rest of the week. That rain cloud is following us from Texas.

Another day another town.We arrived at Styx River and went down to Gulf Shores to see if they had recovered from previous hurricanes.Looks like everything is back to normal. The coast is wall to wall high rise condos didn't take any pictures of gulf coast.Took a tour of Mobile and took some pictures of various homes.

We went to an area called Laural Valley which is south of New Orleans where there are several plantations including the one where Bre'r Rabbit was taken from (uncle Remus). Also an area where the remains of a plantation exists.With 60+ slave quarter housing remains at one point they were used as a WWII camp for German POW'S.
